working with the animals

so this year i was able to get a job in the teaching hospital here at davis
it is actually a very coveted job and looks really good on resumes
i work mostly with food animals (cows, goats, sheep, pigs, etc.) and my job description is to keep the barn clean, feed and water the animals, monitor fluids, and give any drugs if necessary
i work one night a week and tonight i'm working again
here are some pics of some of the patients

the first one is of a sheep that was burned in a fire
a whole herd of nearly 600 was actually trapped by a large grass fire in the hills , 450 had to be euthanized and the ones that can are being rehabilitated
some of the worst patients came here to the hospital and right now we have 10 of them
they are receiving iv fluids, antibiotics and pain medication
this reminds me of the time i was in the hospital and had to be on iv's, it is not fun, but at least it is saving these sheep's lives
can you imagine being burned like that
i would say that is maybe the worst way to die of any
on a lighter note, here is a bull that seriously weighs 2500 pounds, it is massive and that is why i'm not taking a picture in the pen with it :)
check out those horns!!!
cheers,
myronius

Well, first of all there are no pictures of cows on my blog. Sleggie: 1 Myron: 0 Also, I do not promote alcohol on my blog, like the great Christain that I am. Sleggie: 50 Myron: -50 And, well, I'm just a heck of a lot cooler than you. So that's what, like 10 million to -50? Yep, pretty sure that's where it comes out too. Plus I know what's important in life. Like going drunken bowling (which I don't, obviously, promote on my blog) and making communal stir-fry.
