so, as many of you probably know, yesterday was local election day across the country
mostly just voting for school boards, and small local measures
however, here in CA there were quite a few Propositions on the ballot
these Props were all part of a special election called by our "governator" Arnie, but one of the most controversial ones was Prop 73, which, if passed, would have forced minors (18 or under) to notify a parent or guardian before being able to have an abortion
currently, the law does not require notification of parents or guardians
some argued that notification requirements would cause more abortions to go "undercover" and result in a lot of "bad" abortions that could endanger the lives of the teens
however, shouldn't we be teaching young teens to take responsibility for their actions and not just run away from their bad decisions
in my mind, as long as you are under your parents care, they should be aware of what type of medical procedures you are having, especially something as risky as an abortion
and parents, are teens afraid to reveal these things because there is a lack of forgiveness in the relationship, and what type of love are parents showing, conditional, unconditional?
not surprisingly, the Prop did not pass and minors will continue to receive abortions anonymously, at least in CA
this kind of makes me sad :(
and as an advocate of being informed, i thought that people might want to know how the majority of citizens see important issues such as this
what do we do now, continue to pray for our country and for its citizens, because we alone don't have the power to change the hearts of others, only God can
until next time,

Nice thoughts. I agree with you and am appreciative of how you approach the issue, getting at the root of the problem instead of the symptoms faced by our society. It is to bad we cannot legislate good relations between parents and children.
I'm with you man.
i too thank you for your thoughts, myron. i've been hearing a lot about the election NPR; now's it nice to hear from a native Californian.
well said, myronsky. keep prayin for the nation
