my art show

My art show was a lot of fun and was a success! There were around 40 people there who came to enjoy my work. I talked a bit about my work, and my process as an artist in how and why I create what I do. The group asked lots of questions, which made for great discussion. The two peices above are way back from college- Dust to Dust charcoal drawing and Untitled painting. Dust to Dust depicts an idealistic beauty of a woman, then through the peice you see that that

'beauty' fades, wrinkles, and eventually dies. It references back to our creating from dust, and returning to dust. It's also a challenge to the viewer- what will you leave of yourself when you die? Will we waste our lives chasing after worldly norms? And the yellow painting represents life, love, passion, energy.
